“Stages”: Stages form the backbone of a “Silken Future”. Each submission gets interpreted into a visual to form stage 1. The subsequent stage 2 will be consist of three participating groups that will comment. Each stage will be only open for commenting for a specific period of time. Subsequent interpretation of the comments will lead to another visual that forms stage 3. The same steps will be repeated until stage 5 has been reached. The aim is to reach rich and diverse perspectives on each idea.

“Pocket conversation”: A pocket conversation forms the backbone and start of our discussion panel . It follows the “seeding” Stage 1 and consists of two discussant parties, the SilkLab scientists and an invited group of non-scientists (but experts in their own right), who are given first access to comment on submitted futures.
